2 Celebrations...

2 celebrations in one day... Weather forecast: Sun with south-westerly breeze.

1st GATHERING:
Location: Amalfi (Italian) 12 midday
Event: Mai's Bday Meal
Description: Beautiful small place with a strong sense of Italian-family bonding
Summary: About 28 adults & 7ish children arrived... practically took up the whole restaurant! Food was good, esp. the carbonara (highly reccommended). Met a lot of people whom i had not spoken for ages... Sitting at the table, i observed so many different characters/lives - all busy with their own lives and sharing it with the next person on the table. How time flies... Children growing, career paths changing... Took snap shots as a reminder for the future of how it used to be.. so beautiful... After the meal, a few of us went to Roath Park. Must say, it's been ages since i went - i suppose too many distractions in life... The air was peaceful as we strolled along the path, chit-chatting... I was comforted to be walking with my Huppy and my dearest frens. At that particular moment in time i was so chilled and although at times we just silently walked - we knew... Just look around - appreciate the scene and company...

2nd GATHERING:
Location: Chiquito's (Mexican) 6pm
Event: Celebration Meal for Aysh &Sad and Gathering
Description: Ever been to Nandos? Basically, it's like that! Fajitas, peri-peri, loaded potato skins.....

Summary: 3 couples - 1st pair married, 2nd pair dating, 3rd pair ? Us 3 girlies met when we were in our first year of Uni and we have stuck together thru our ups and downs since then.... Today was a celebration of good news and to catch up... We all promised each other that no matter where in this world we were, who we were with, how busy our lives were... We would never lose our friendship and will always make time... With our diaries out and planning our next meetings (whether that be swimming, just chilling or just organising our event to a fren's wedding)... we always seem to have fun... I look at us all and it's been 8 years already... Some of us have progressed more quicker in life than others, some have more responsibilities.. However, we are still us... Me, dipsy and still very forgetful! Aysh, basically like me but less forgetful!?!?!? Pri, still "whatever"! Over dinner and dessert, us girls talked about our little adventures in life (holidays, lectures, funny incidents, scary incidents)... The blokies just couldnt believe how many times we could have been in serious danger due to our survival techniques, common sense and so on! The point is... Im glad ive epxerienced what i did and not chicken out.. cos its made me stronger as a person and i appreciate more now. Whoever is reading this, take the time out to reflect... Ask yourself what's important to you as "time goes only in one direction"...
