MIA For Awhile!! Too Busy Creating Something...

Sorry if our Missing In Action, has led to lack of entertainment, but these few days has been busy and busy....

Planning and preparing for a couple of projects ( in a big scale ). Fingers crossed hope this will work out well.

Today I would like to blog about a conversation with a friend's dad ( J ), who is also a politician. We were talking over dinner, casual chat and a little bit about what we do for a living. I knew that he is involved in the politics and i have a cousin who is pathing toward a politician's career, so we have something to talk about.

Being me, a person who is always curious and not afraid to ask, I asked J, " What makes you want to be a politician? " As my cousin had began his interest in politics since 13 years old, it just makes me wonder why would someone want to become a politician.

J replied, "Allan, Because I like to make changes! Having the power to make changes." That sentence he made since then, dug a very deep impact in my subconscious mind. Yesterday while i was washing the dishes after lunch, i suddenly just heard his voice again..

His sentence sort of matched my inner thoughts, my ambition and goal, however in the different field.. My goal or shall i say our (DnA) goal is be able to do whatever we want to do, anytime, anywhere, without the restrain of finance nor time. We want to make changes in our lives and our future family's.

Daisie and i both grew up in a family whereby our dads are not always there to participate in our childhood, mainly becos they have to work to support the family. After a hard day's work, they just want to sit down, relax and watch tv.

I remember when i was younger, my dad used to bring my sis and i to swim on a weekly basis. I love it! He was throwing us in the water, swimming under the water pretending to be a shark (Jaws was famous then), we had a lot of fun. Then one day, it all stopped becos dad was very tired from his job... and all he want was to relax at home watching tv and reading his papers. I missed it..

Then one day, my dad had to leave us for awhile due to work... he went and i did not see him for a few good years.. I was only 5. It was a growing up period which i think i needed a man/dad to teach me how to do DIYs, how to play football etc... the 1st touch of a soccer ball was when i was 13 years old can you beleaf that? And it was only recently that i finally flew a kite.. aged 26.. I think i missed out a lot..

I m not complaining that i do not have a good childhood, i m just stating that i could have a bit more fun to my childhood, and that makes me all the more determined to be able to give to our children in the future, all the attention daisie and i can give to them. Also to be able to do as much activities with them as possible, spending quality time with them. That is our goal.

I can't stress more than that... "Spend more time with your family!"

And that is why we are working really hard to secure our future. Spending lots of time making some residual income so that when we begin to have our small little family, we will have lots of time to spend with them, instead of having to work most of our time to support the family.

For some people who know us, it might seems that we are very money conscious, we talk about money money money, but deep down we know that money is not everything, the only good thing about money is, it can buy you time, indirectly.

You cannot go to a shop and use $500 to buy 2 hrs of time. However indirectly, if you have a good sum of money/assets, making money for you to spend on all your expenditure, without having you to work a 9-5 job, you have in fact, indirectly bought some time, a good 8 hours a day. Can you imagine what you can do with those extra 8 hours a day??? We know what we can do...

We can go for morning strolls at 7am, take the kids to school at 8, eat some breakfast at 9, go for dancing classes at 10, shop for lunch and dinner ingredients at 11, eat lunch at 12, go hike a mountain at 2 pick the kids up at 4, do some homework with them and eat dinner at 6, some family entertainment until 9, tuck the kids in bed and we can go watch a movie/theatre play after...

This is just a rough guide, on top of that what we really would be doing is to spend more time with our parents too.. becos we know that becos of us, they had to work so hard during their younger days.. We really want to go travelling with them... We also would like to do some charity work.... give what we can give to the society, of cos, to the people who needs to be treated better... it is always our intent to give what we can give to charity, becos the needies deserve a better lifestyle.

The next thing is, we really wish to be more involved in sports. Not going for gold, olympics style but doing sports to stay fit and healthy....

In short really, we want to make changes! Changes for the better!

To end this blog, i would like to show you a formula that you are fully aware of, yet have not thought about it indepth b4. (Perhaps you have, but not doing something about it?)

Pain pain pain!!!

Do you remember when I did some gardening? Cos I certainly do (Sunday 7th May)!!! I was pulling weeds, plants, shovelling etc.... And that day - I pulled a muscle.... Coming up to 2 weeks now - after rest and Ibuprofen... still pain!

Went to see Dr and they say I have left arm/shoulder tendonitis! Great!! So with my arm in a sling to rest it and doing as little house chores as possible... I'm finding it REALLY difficult to do things! Never really appreciated what I do with the left hand and how much use i really get out of it... Now I know!

"What is tendonitis?"
Sometimes the tendons become inflamed for a variety of reasons, and the action of pulling the muscle becomes irritating. If the normal smooth gliding motion of your tendon is impaired, the tendon will become inflamed and movement will become painful. This is called tendonitis, and literally means inflammation of the tendon.

"What causes tendonitis?"
The most common cause of tendonitis is overuse. Commonly, individuals begin an exercise program, or increase their level of exercise, and begin to experience symptoms of tendonitis. The tendon is unaccustomed to the new level of demand, and this overuse will cause an inflammation and tendonitis.

Another common cause of symptoms of tendonitis is due to age-related changes of the tendon. As people age, the tendons loose their elasticity and ability to glide as smoothly as they used to. With increasing age, individuals are more prone to developing symptoms of tendonitis. The cause of these age-related changes is not entirely understood, but may be due to changes in the blood vessels that supply nutrition to the tendons.

Sometimes, there is an anatomical cause for tendonitis. If the tendon does not have a smooth path to glide along, it will be more likely to become irritated and inflamed. In these unusual situations, surgical treatment may be necessary to realign the tendon.

Bones In Fish Fingers!! Watch Out Kids!!

Was eating lunch today and found 4 small bones from the fish fingers ( the longest being 1 cm long ) - I sometimes add these for nutrition to instant noodles. Could not believe what I found. Concerned for kids as young as 2-3 years old, that this 1 cm long small bone (which is small to us) might be a very dangerous hazard for these young kiddies..
I urge parents to be careful when giving food to their children, especially anything to do with fish. Even though the package say boneless, sometimes you might find that some small bones remain.

Apprentice: Final

Tonight was the finals of the Apprentice... For the past 12 weeks we have been hooked to the TV! This is the UK version:

"Fourteen hopefuls, two eagle-eyed advisors and one self-made millionaire. Yes it’s the show that pits Britain’s hungriest business brains against each other to see which one is worthy of a six-figure salary and the chance to become Sir Alan Sugar’s apprentice.
Over twelve weeks the candidates will take part in the toughest recruitment-drive on television. Sharing a luxury townhouse on London’s "millionaire’s row", they will be split into two teams and given a weekly task with which to expose their entrepreneurial nous.
For those on the winning team a taste of the executive lifestyle awaits in the form of a luxury treat. Those on the losing team will discover that, unlike his name, Sir Alan Sugar is not so sweet.
The losing team’s elected Project Manager must choose two members of the team whom he or she thinks performed worst.
The three of them have to defend their respective corners whilst Sir Alan, assisted by his trusted advisors Margaret Mountford and Nick Hewer, decides which of them will hear those dreaded words: "You’re fired".
Over the nail-biting journey the candidates will endure and enjoy (at times), a fight for survival. Only one of them can win so be prepared for plenty of sour-grapes along the way..."

I still think the original Apprentice by Donald Trump (American version) is much better cos there is more drama, action & the tasks are harder!!! I wonder what we will do on our Wednesday nights, now that this programme has finished?
